Tulsa Elite 24/25’s Dasia Mason hopes to be a veterinarian one day, but for now she will continue to do surgery on opposing hitters from the circle.
Not only is Mason one of the top 2024 pitching prospects in the country, but she’s equally as dangerous at the plate as a triple threat out of the lead-off spot that can bunt, slap and hit for power.
“This kid is very special,” Tulsa Elite founder Jeff Filali said. “She’s a 2024 LHP/OF who has been picking up with our 16s some since she was a 6th grader. She pitched 16s at the Tulsa Elite Summer Invite this year and several coaches clocked her at 61 mph. She also hits for power and is very fast.”
MIF Gracyn McGowen said Mason, who also excels in basketball and track and field, has a versatile skillset and a positive personality to go along with that.
“Dasia is an incredible athlete and could play anywhere on the field,” McGowen said. “I can always count on her to get an out of any ball that is hit to her. I can always count on her to get on base and score runners in any situation and being fast is another great quality about her. She is the most positive and outgoing person I have met and played with. She always cheers her team and says positive things on the field and off. She is a great teammate and I love playing ball with her. Dasia is a special player because she is always building the team up if we are losing or if we are ahead. She always talks her team up and is a great ballplayer. I have never seen anyone who had worked so hard to get to where she is now.”
2024 C Saylor Brown said Mason may be young, but she’s a leader.
“Not only is Dasia a very effective pitcher, but when fielding she is able to cover a lot of ground and make the plays,” Brown said. “Dasia is a leader. She is both confident and humble. She will pick you up if you are down. She is a naturally gifted athlete with an incredible work ethic and a lot of determination.”
