Sakora Harvell had a breakthrough season last spring/summer, batting .513 with 10 homers and 56 RBIs to help Batbusters-Gomes/Brooks win the 2019 Triple Crown 14U World Series.
The aspiring lawyer continued to blow up the softball scene in the fall.
Kailani Tatro, a 2023 P/1B, loves having “Coco” play behind her up the middle.
“When Sakora is on the field she makes everything look easy,” Tatro said of the 2023 2B. “She’s an amazing second basemen and makes some unbelievable plays. She’s not only amazing on defense, she’s also amazing on offense. She’s one of the best hitters on our team and by the end of last season she led our team in home runs.”
“Without Sakora our team would not be the same. If we didn’t have her in our lineup, we might have lost many tough games. She’s very valuable to our team not only as a player, but also as a teammate. Sakora is unique because there’s not many people like her. She’s a great player, teammate and person on and off the field.”
Victoria Martinez-Lloyd, 2023 1B/3B, also loves Harvell’s amazing glove work and her big bat.
“CoCo is a great defensive and offensive player,” Martinez-Lloyd said. “I know that whenever a ball is hit to her at second she will always field it or find a way to get the ball and get the runner out. For offense, she really helps our team out by hitting the runners in, getting on base and even scoring. She means a lot to the team because she’s a wonderful player/person and she has a positive attitude with everyone and that’s what also makes her a unique person too.”
When Harvell isn’t training or working out, she makes TikTok videos and she’s been honing her backing skills, while under stay-at-home orders in Northern California.
“Sakora is one of our best players on the field,” said 2023 P/OF Kennedi Brooks said. “She is our starting second basemen and one of our top hitters. She is very dedicated to the game and always backs me up when I’m on the mound. She is very sweet and funny. She also brings a lot of joy to our team and makes our games so much more fun. Everyone on the team loves her and is very thankful that we get to play with such an amazing athlete.”
