Alexis Milanowski prefers to be driven even though she has a driver’s permit, but few can match her drive to play softball at the highest level.
The former cheerleader took up softball at 9-years-old, fell in love with the sport and she’s been playing in the dirt ever since.
“I never cheered again,” said Milanowski, known as “Axe” to her teammates, who was named a USSSA Select 30 All-American after her stellar effort at the Select 30 National Training Camp over the New Year break.
Milanowski’s teammates say her work ethic is unmatched and they can depend on her to deliver in clutch situations.
“Alexis is the hardest worker I know,” uncommitted 2022 OF Maia Townsend said. “She’s always the first on and off the field and her work ethic is unmatched. On the field, I know she always has my back. Nothing gets by her. She’s like a brick wall. And when she’s hitting, I know that if I don’t get on, Alexis will. She’s extremely positive. I’ve played with her for years and she’s overall just one the best players and person I know.”
Milanowski batted .423 with 12 doubles, four triples, four homers, 45 runs scored, 18 stolen bases and 29 RBIs in 38 games for Houston Academy of Dothan, AL, as a freshman last season. Her hard work and hustle are infectious to her teammates.
“She is one of the most dedicated and hard-working athletes I have ever had the privilege to play with,” Auburn-committed 2022 P Emmah Rolfe said. “She inspires me and everyone on the team to perform at their best and give their all because that is how she approaches the game every time she is on the field.”
“I consider it a true honor and blessing to be Alexis’ teammate and look for her to do many great things in the sport of softball for years to come,” Rolfe continues. “Any team would be lucky to have such a human being like her to share in this experience called softball, but fortunately for the Georgia Impact 04 Jeffreys/Townsend team we get to claim her as family.”
