Final Reminder: 2026 Extra Elite 100 Nomination Deadline THIS SUNDAY; Dates of All-Region Teams Released

It’s Memorial Day Weekend and we hope everyone has a chance to reflection on the reason for the holiday on Monday as well as get recharged for what will be a busy summer!

And a reminder that the deadline for 2026 nominations is just two days away!!!!

The updated 2026 Extra Elite 100 rankings will on launch on Monday, June 5th but the end to recommend players is upon us: the nomination submission deadline is THIS weekend, Sunday, May 28 @ 8 pm EST / 5 pm PT! 

To nominate players, go to the “Rankings/Nominations“ tab at the top of the home page or simply click HERE.

The coverage for the class will include:

• the 2026 Extra Elite 1-100 ranked prospects with bios and photos
• the players ranked #’s 101-500
• a spotlight on the top player in the class
• position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)
• and, starting with this edition of the rankings: All-Region teams! That’s right–players will be ranked in three ways:
  • overall (1-500)
  • by position
  • by region

The Regional Rankings will be announced based on the following geographic areas:

• Region 1—Northeast (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia)
• Region 2—Southeast (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee)
• Region 3 – Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin)
• Region 4—Southwest (Arizona, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas)
• Region 5—Mountain (Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming)
• Region 6—West (Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Washington)

IMPORTANT UPDATE: the Regional Rankings will be announced on these dates:

• Region 1—Northeast: June 26, 2023
• Region 2—Southeast: June 27, 2023
• Region 3 – Midwest: June 28, 2023
• Region 4—Southwest: June 29, 2023
• Region 5—Mountain: June 30, 2023
• Region 6—West: July 1, 2023

The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, along with members of the Extra Inning Softball staff as well as from input from more than 500 college and club scouts and coaches.

Brentt, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, has now ranked 15 grad classes (2014 to 2028) and, with updates of each, will have done more than 40 class rankings.

Remember:

*** Beginning with this version of the Extra Elite 100 rankings, the Top 100 will be be “scaled back,” meaning it will be more of a TRUE Top 100 list. There will be fewer “ties” but the good news is more players will be honored as they make the All-Region and Position Rankings.

*** Top club coaches will participate in providing feedback and insights on who they think are top 100 candidates. If you’re a club coach and would like to be a contributor, please e-mail info@extrainningsoftball.com to be considered.
