
Mater Dei Catholic (California) opened the season going 4-0 in the Cougar Classic last week.
We’re into Week 6 of the 2021 high school softball season and the teams from California are really starting to flex their muscles but don’t sleep on Leander High in Texas which is undefeated and Lakewood Ranch from Florida, which has just one loss so far this year.

1. (1) Los Alamitos, CA (6-0)
The Griffins picked up a 9-5 victory over Beckman, CA.
2. (2) Leander, TX (26-0)
LSU-commit Baylea Brandon knocked two more HRs and has 16 homers on the year to go along with 56 RBIs.
3. (3) Norco, CA (4-1)
The Cougars took down Yucaipa, CA, 8-2. Norco has big games against Great Oak, CA, Murrieta Mesa, CA, and La Habra, CA, this week.
4. (4) Marist, IL (0-0)
The Redhawks open their season against Huntley, IL, on April 17.

5. (5) Crown Point, IN (1-0)
Arizona-bound Madi Elish tossed a four-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts in the Bulldogs’ season-opening 6-0 win over Andrean, IN.
6. (6) Lakewood Ranch, FL (16-1)
The Mustangs picked up four wins last week and sophomore Olivia Laney is 13-1 with a 0.54 ERA with 66 Ks in 78 IP.
7. (7) Crescenta Valley, CA (0-0)
The Falcons open their season at Muir, CA, on April 13.
8. (8) Park Vista, FL (14-0)
Junior CF/UT Iliana Hernandez is batting .462 with seven HRs and 22 RBIs for the Cobras, who ran their winning streak to 33 games with two wins last week.

9. (9) Villa Park, CA (5-0)
Arizona-commit Sydney Somerndike tossed a perfect game with 18 strikeouts in an 8-0 win over JSerra, CA, and she threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Aliso Niguel, CA.
10. (10) Mater Dei Catholic, CA (4-0)
Ohio Valley-bound Brianna Escalante went 6 for 11 with a homer and seven RBIs to help the Crusaders go 4-0 in the Cougar Classic last week.
