
A week from Monday (Dec. 7, 2020), we begin our Extra Elite 100 Coaches Rankings series to honor coaches in high school, club and college softball.
We start our look at the top high school coaches who will be featured based on the criteria of their softball achievements and successes, ability to develop players, their passion for the sport and their impact on others.
One of those is Coach Jody Moore from the Sunshine State who has built a program from scratch into a four-time state championship winner….

Team: Â Canterbury School of Florida
City/State: St. Petersburg, Florida
Current record: Before the 2020 season was cut short due to the pandemic, the Canterbury Crusaders were ranked No. 1 in the state of Florida in 2A and 27th in the state in all classes after playing one of the hardest strength of schedule. In their shortened season, the Crusaders beat the 2019 three-time 3A state champions, the 2019 2A state runner ups, the 2019 4A state semi-finalist, and the 2019 4A regional finalist.
Career record: Since Moore was hired in 2006 to start the softball program at Canterbury, the team has won 11 district titles, been to regional playoffs 10 seasons, and won state championships in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2017.
