Last Fall, when we published the latest 2024 Extra Elite 100 rankings (note: the next update comes begins August 16, 2021!), one of those that made the list was Carrie Green, a skilled outfielder and lefty slapper who hits for a high average.

Here’s the text to that write-up:
T-75—Carrie Green, OF, Georgia Impact – Schroyer
Carrie is a playmaking natural lefty slapper who can pinpoint the ball to all fields and keep the defense honest with her power. She’s been a nationally recognized top player for several years including an impressive run at the 2018 PGF Nationals when she earned PGF All-Tournament honors hitting over .500 against elite competition and leading her Impact team to a Top 5 finish. She’s one of two freshmen starting for Grayson (Georgia) high this fall on the team that finished 2nd last year at state and returned 10 seniors, seven of whom were starters. Playing left field, Carrie has started off the season hitting .571 with seven steals and gets to compete with her sister, Jordyn Green, who plays for AP Gold – Locke.
Carrie is using the rankings as motivation to improve her game; she wrote and told us: “I have been working hard to move up the list,” she explained. “I work 1-2 times a week with a trainer in my strength and running.”
The incoming sophomore has had a busy month of June with softball instruction and competition.
This week she went to the Clemson camp and is resting this weekend before leaving with her Georgia Impact team for Colorado.
Here’s how Carrie has spent her “summer vacation” so far!

June 18, 2021; Clemson Camp
This week I attended the Clemson softball camp. I cannot even begin to describe how amazing it was!
The camp was super well run and organized. I learned many new things, my favorite being how they perform the “do or die” in the outfield.
I also want to mention how awesome the coaches and staff were. They helped everyone who needed it and were really fun to be around. Every drill we performed was well explained and broken down into small details, so everyone understood the mechanics and reasoning. I
I cannot wait to go back to another one of their camps!

June 14, 2021: Champions Elite Showcases
Last weekend I played in Champions. This showcase was full of outstanding competition and, boy was it great to see college coaches back out again!
I batted .357 with a .438 on-base percentage with four RBIs from the leadoff position. I also had the opportunity to make some defensive plays to help my team go 3-1-1 against some top teams.
We were offensively sound with speed and power and our defense is spot on… as long as it’s not an 8 am game!
Finished @CFPAShowcases with a 3-1-1 record. So glad to finally see coaches in person. I batted .357 with a .438 OBP, also ROE 3 times. Doing my job as lead off and getting on base! @ExtraInningSB @2022Impact @GraysonSoftball pic.twitter.com/XcsJUlUGlF

My favorite game this weekend was playing Mojo – Lunsford. They jumped up on us scoring four runs in the first inning, but instead of feeling defeated, we fought back with three runs of our own in the bottom of that same inning.
It was a pitcher’s duel from then on, as the score remained the say and finished Mojo 4, Georgia Impact 3.
I will say both teams put on a show for all the college coaches there to watch!
This Showcase was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was moved to Friday. I was sad because I was ready to get on the field with my girls, but at least I got another day to spend with my grandparents.

June 3, 2021: Atlanta Fastpitch Tournament
We played in the Atlanta Fastpitch this weekend playing some good competition. We played teams like Lady Dukes – Rabistch, EC Bullets – Bilz, Team NC – Huss and Mojo Henson.
I had a great weekend batting .562 with some great defensive plays. I even robbed two home runs!
As we get ready for @CFPAShowcases this weekend below are highlights from the Atlanta Fastpitch. I batted .562 with some great defensive plays. @2022Impact @ExtraInningSB @GraysonSoftball pic.twitter.com/WJJBBUOYip

I also had my first slapping home run as I’ve been working on my power and have some swinging home runs but slapping a home run over the right center fence felt different, and all from the leadoff spot.
I am so excited for the summer as coaches can watch us play in person.
