What’s your area of expertise?
Strength and movement, throwing.

What are some of your favorite training methods?
The High Level Throwing® System and the Youngblood Training Program (Strength Training Program for Softball Athletes) are my favorites for softball players. These programs provide a framework and progression for throwing and foundational strength and movement so athletes, coaches and parents are comfortable and confident applying it to their sessions and practices.

Top players you’ve coached?
I have taught the High Level Throwing® System to MiLB/MLB players and teams, baseball and softball D1-D3 players and coaches, rec, travel and high school programs as well as Olympians from all over the world.

Other sports coached?
Baseball.

Is coaching and/or softball your full-time or “day job?”
Yes, Wasserman Strength and High Level Throwing is a company with multiple locations around the country, coaching and player online programs, travel clinics/seminars and online books and products focusing on strength, overhand throwing and pitching for softball athletes!

Did you have a coach or mentor that helped you get started?
Denise Davis, Pat Murphy, Heather Tarr and Sue Enquist.

What is the best part of your job?
Knowing that we are providing healthier ways to develop softball athletes strength, movement and overhand throwing/pitching skills that transfer to performance is incredible! Being able to help guide coaches (from the rec leagues to collegiate programs) on how to train their athletes based on age, but more importantly, what to look for when searching for in local performance coaches as well as training options and programs!

Do you think softball is in a better place now than 10 years ago? Why or why not?
Yes. Coaches have better tools now to train their athletes, teach correct throwing patterns and other skills, along with having more efficient ways to warm up, recover AND keep healthy through the long playing months.

What other club and/or high school coaches do you admire and why?
I’ve had the pleasure of working with many coaches at all different levels that are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the game AND want to provide as much value to their athletes! They CARE about the athlete and the process of development and that is so exciting to me.
