Extra Inning Softball Welcomes Jayden Mount as New Editorial Manager: Former University of South Alabama CoachÂ
We are thrilled to announce that Jayden Mount has joined the Extra Inning Softball team as our new Editorial Manager. With a rich background in both playing and coaching softball at a high level, Mount brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization. Her expertise and passion for the game will undoubtedly enhance our coverage and content, providing our readers with even more insightful and engaging material.
Jayden Mount’s Impressive Background
Jayden Mount’s journey in softball is a testament to her dedication, talent, and commitment to excellence. Her playing career is decorated with numerous accolades and achievements that highlight her prowess on the field. As a standout player at the University of Louisiana Monroe, Mount consistently demonstrated her exceptional skills and leadership abilities.
In 2018, Jayden was named to the 2nd Team All-Sunbelt as a shortstop, and she was also honored as a 2nd Team All-South Region shortstop by the NFCA. Her performance on the field was a key factor in her team’s success, and her individual accolades speak volumes about her abilities. In 2019, she continued to excel, earning a spot on the Sunbelt All-Tournament Team and receiving preseason All-Sunbelt Team honors for three consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021).
Jayden’s versatility as a player was further recognized in 2021 when she was named a 1st Team All-Sunbelt Utility Player and a 3rd Team All-South Region Utility Player by the NFCA. Her ability to contribute in multiple positions made her an invaluable asset to her team. Additionally, Mount holds the distinction of being ranked 1st in program history for the single-season on-base percentage with an impressive .561 OBP. She also tied for 1st in program history for the single-season hit by pitch record with 25 HBP, showcasing her tenacity and willingness to do whatever it takes to get on base.
Coaching Experience
After her illustrious playing career, Jayden transitioned into coaching, where she continued to make a significant impact. From August 2022 until May 2024, Mount served as the Assistant Softball Coach at the University of South Alabama. In this role, she was instrumental in developing players’ skills, strategizing game plans, and fostering a winning mentality. Her experience as a coach has provided her with a deep understanding of the game from a different perspective, further enriching her insights and expertise. Prior to arriving in Mobile, Mount spent the 2022 season as a graduate assistant coach at her alma mater, ULM
Educational Background
Jayden’s academic achievements are equally impressive. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology from the University of Louisiana Monroe in May 2020. She then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Sport Management, from the same institution in May 2022. Her educational background has equipped her with a strong foundation in the principles of sports management and psychology, which will be invaluable in her new role at Extra Inning Softball.
Contributions to the Softball Community
In addition to her playing and coaching experience, Mount has also been an active contributor to the softball community. In 2018, she composed informative blogs as a Division I Student-Athlete to promote her team, showcasing her ability to communicate effectively and engage with fans and supporters. Her writing skills and deep understanding of the game will be a tremendous asset to our editorial team.

Her responsibilities will include overseeing our editorial team, developing new content strategies, and ensuring that our coverage remains comprehensive, accurate, and engaging.
