Jayla Santana Blazing a Trail in the Game of Softball!
Jayla Santana reached a personal milestone recently when she was named a member of the Dominican Republic National Team. At just 13 years old, Santana competed in her first international competition at the Pan American Women’s Championship U18.
“This is an experience that I will never forget,” she said. “I got to visit a new country, learned from a different culture, played the game I love, but most importantly, I met new girls who share something similar with me which is Dominican blood in their veins.”
Santana is certainly an overachiever as she also earned a spot on the Impact Caymol Premier 16U team as a 13-year old.
But Santana is committed to giving back. Not just to softball, but in life in general.
Santana is the co-founder of Youth 4 Sports, a non-profit organization aimed at encouraging young boys and girls to play sports, especially those facing financial barriers.
Not only is Santana reaching her own dreams she is helping those that are less fortunate realize their dreams.
