Oklahoma slugger Jocelyn Alo hit the 96th home run of her career on Friday night, officially setting a new NCAA all-time record in the category.
Alo had been tied with fellow Sooner great Lauren Chamberlain atop the record books, but took sole possession of first place following Friday’s longball. The home run came in the 6th inning of the Sooners’ game against Hawaii at the Rainbow Wahine Classic. It was her 8th home run of the year.

Alo was batting .511 on the 2022 season, with 23 hits in 45 at-bats following Friday’s game. She had earned sixteen walks in her last eight games, including three intentional passes. Her season’s stat line also includes 23 runs scored, and 26 RBIs to her credit.
Now a “super senior” in Norman, Alo has reached double-digit home runs in every full season of her career. She hit 30 home runs as a freshman, 16 in her sophomore season, 8 during the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, and a career-high 34 roundtrippers during the 2021 season.
In addition to her power numbers, entering the 2022 season, Alo owned a career .426 batting average with 197 runs scored and a .531 on-base percentage to her credit.
