For Maddie Watson, committing to Southern Miss didn’t mark the end of her journey—it gave her the freedom to enjoy the ride.
The Oak Forest Academy standout from Fluker, Louisiana, is a 2025 centerfielder for Impact Gold National Wilmore, and this summer she’s been playing with a fresh mindset. Instead of worrying about who’s watching or what offers may come, she’s able to play for the reason she started softball in the first place: because she loves it.
