Marcie Higgs is resigning as the head coach at North Florida, the school announced on Wednesday. Her final day at the program’s helm was June 10th.

Higgs spent fourteen years as the Ospreys’ head coach, collecting 379 wins and guiding the program through the final season of transition into Division 1.

During the 2022 season, Higgs guided North Florida to forty-two wins, a 42-17 overall record, and tied the Division 1-era program record for most victories in a single season. The Ospreys finished second in the ASun East Division and earned the overall #3 seed in the conference tournament.

In 2013, Higgs was named the ASun Coach of the Year and also earned MEAC Coach of the Year honors earlier in her career. Prior to North Florida, Higgs spent five years as the head coach at Coppin State and two years as head coach at Vermont.
