Mother’s Day Tribute: Players & Coaches… Make Your Mom (or That Key Mother Figure in Your Life) Feel Like a ROCK STAR!

Oregon Duck player Rachel Cid (right) and her mother Randy… both of whom are ROCK STARS!

This Sunday, May 9th, is Mother’s Day… and we want you players and coaches to help us celebrate your mom (or that key mother figure in your life, be it a step-mom, grandmother, sister, teacher, coach or someone else)!

On Sunday afternoon, Extra Inning Softball will release a special ROCK STAR tribute addressed to mothers/mom figures wherever they may be.

If you would like to honor YOUR mother or the person who’s been like a mom to you, follow the steps below:

  • In a few sentences or 1-2 paragraphs, complete this sentence: My mother is a ROCK STAR because_____________________.
  • Send your tribute to Bonnie Eads @ bonnie.eads@extrainningsoftball no later than Sunday, May 9, 2021 (Mother’s Day) at noon EST/9 am PST.
  • Include a photo of you and your mother/mom figure (preferably at the softball field).
  • In the subject line please include the following:  Mother’s Day Tribute, your name, grad year, your mom/mother figure’s name

On a personal note, I will be flying back to Ohio this weekend to surprise my 87-year-old mom for Mother’s Day along with my two brothers (shhhh…. don’t tell her, she doesn’t know I’m coming!).

Also, I have to credit my wife, Bonnie, for this awesome tribute… she says this photo (on the right) is the one that sparked the idea.

In her words:

“The photo was taken moments after I completed a cross-country race, setting my all-time personal best record of 3.1 miles in 20 minutes (proud Brentt note here: Bonnie would help her school team win state in XC her senior year!).

Needless to say, you can tell I was exhausted. My mom was so proud of me because she knew how hard I had tried to break my record over the course of three years and she cried with me.”

Now, that’s one mom who is a ROCK STAR!

And for those dying to know what I looked like as a little dude, here’s me (Brentt on the left) with my mom and brother Blaine… and, no, this photo isn’t from the 1800’s… Nice curlers, Mom!
