During its run of three straight NCAA titles Oklahoma has not lost many games during the regular season, four to be exact, but in each instance the Sooners have responded in impressive fashion.

Following a 7-5 loss to Louisiana in eight innings on March 3 that broke OU’s NCAA record 71-game winning streak, the Sooners quickly went about starting a new winning streak.

In the first game following the loss, Oklahoma defeated Texas A&M Commerce 9-0 in five innings and then opened Big 12 play with a three-game sweep of Iowa State.

OU swept a doubleheader on Saturday as the Sooners posted 4-0 and 11-2 wins and then completed the sweep with a 14-1 win on Sunday.

In Saturday’s game one, Kelly Maxwell turned in an outstanding outing as she went 7.0 innings and allowed just four hits and struck out eight batters, while Cydney Sanders homered and drove in three runs to pace the offense.

Sanders dominated game two as she went 2-for-2 with two home runs and four RBIs. Jayda Coleman and Rylie Boone also added home runs for OU to back the pitching of Nicole May and Karlie Keeney.
