Oklahoma State’s Miranda Elish Named Extra Inning Softball National Player of the Week

Oklahoma State two-way standout Miranda Elish has been named the Extra Inning Softball Player of the Week for her efforts during Week 7 of the college softball season.

Playing on both sides of the ball, Elish saw action in the circle in one game but was part of the batting lineup every day during the Cowgirls’ three-game Big 12 series against Texas Tech. Elish earned a win in the circle and batted 1.000 at the plate on the week.

Going 8-8 on the week, Elish hit a quartet of home runs, including a 2-home run performance to close the weekend series. Elish also collected nine RBIs and scored five runs.

In the opening game against the Red Raiders, Elish was a perfect 3-3 at the plate, swatting a home run and driving in a pair of runs while also scoring twice. In game two of the series, she was again 3-3 for a perfect performance, again registering another home run – her second of the weekend.

The series finale saw Elish go 2-2 at the plate, with both hits being home runs. Elish drove in six runs on the day and hit both of her home runs as part of a 12-run first inning for the Cowgirls. The first longball was a grand slam, while dinger #2 was a 2-run shot.

From the pitching circle, Elish was the pitcher of record in game two of the series, as she threw a full five innings against Texas Tech. Elish allowed just three hits and one run while striking out five batters.
