Oklahoma slugger Jocelyn Alo has been named the Extra Inning Softball Player of the Week for Week 2 of the college softball season.
Alo batted .600 during her team’s 5-0 weekend in Houston, hitting five home runs and tying the NCAA career home run record along the way.
After going “homerless” on the first day of action this weekend, Alo recorded a back-to-back pair of multi-home run games on Saturday, hitting a pair of bombs against first McNeese, then Houston. She added her fifth home run of the weekend in a game against Texas State on Sunday.
The home runs marked the 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 94th, and 95th home runs of her illustrious career – her next longball will give her sole possession of the all-time record.
In addition to the barrage of home runs, Alo hit two doubles, drove in eleven runs, and scored 15 times on the weekend. She collected nine hits in total.
