We at Extra Inning Softball will hit the New Year with a bang as the first-ever 2027 Extra Elite 100 rankings will begin on Monday, January 10, 2022 (four weeks from this upcoming Monday)–and the nomination deadline is January 3!
The Class of 2027’s extensive three-weeks coverage will include:
- the 2027 Extra Elite 100 ranked prospects with bios and photos
- the players ranked #’s 101-500
- a spotlight on the top player in the class
- position rankings (pitchers, catchers, infielders, outfielders)
This follows the previous Extra Elite 100 rankings published this year covering the Classes of ’22, ’23, ’24, ‘25 and ’26. The final 2022 Extra Elite 100 rankings were the most recently published (October 2021).
Note: the next set of ratings after the 2027s will be the 2026 Extra Elite 100 class starting in March (you can see the complete rankings list for 2022 by CLICKING HERE)
The rankings are led by Brentt Eads, Extra Inning Softball’s President & Executive Editor, and the Extra Inning Softball staff with input from more than 250 college and club scouts and coaches.
Eads, who originated the top 100 rankings lists used in softball, will now have ranked 14 grad classes (2014 to 2027) and, counting multiple updates of each, will have done more than three dozen class rankings.
