PGF Player Watchlists UPDATED for High School All-American Games on July 29, 2023

Note: the lists below have been updated since the article originally ran on last week (Thursday, Feb. 23, 2022) as some players have been added and some removed.

Two important items to note:

1. the nomination process has been closed for this year’s 2023 All-American Games
2. players do need to be PGF registered to be considered for the game

You know the Summer softball season is coming up fast when Premier Girls Fastpitch announces its Watchlists for the two big PGF High School All-American Games which will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023:

• the 2023 PGF High School Seniors All-American Game, to be televised live on ESPNU at 7 pm PST, matching 44 top Seniors from the East and West and
• the 2023 PGF Futures All-American Game, to be aired on ESPN3 at 4 pm PST, pitting 44 of the best high school Juniors and Sophomores, class against class!

The pair of All-American Games will follow the PGF 16U and 18U Premier National Championships which once again will be held at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine, Calif.

Tickets will go on sale on March 15th, at the EventBrite website. Entrance for adults (18 and older) is $10, for youth ages 7-to-17 tickets run $5 each and for those under age 6 or under, entrance is free.

The coaches for the East teams are Lovieanne Jung, Morgan Stuart and Nicole Giordano Stoll; those leading the West squads include Suzy Brazney, Jocelyn Alo and Regan Krause. Click HERE to see the coach bios.

NOMINATION & SELECTION PROCESS (Key Dates & Notes)

* Nominations: the opening of nominations for the PGF High School All-American Game has commenced online as of yesterday, Feb. 22, 2023. Names can be submitted by clicking HERE from the following:

• High School Coaches
• Travel Ball Coaches
• PGF Selection Committee Members

* Senior candidates: Eligible players for the Senior Game must be in their Senior Year of High School, academically eligible, and in good standing with their schools. All information will be verified by the Selection Committee.

* Selection Committee: The selection process for the PGF High School All-American Games involves a National Selection Committee comprised of knowledgeable softball people from across the country including contributors from Premier Girls Fastpitch, USA Today, FloSoftball and Extra Inning Softball to help chair this selection process.

* Watch List: the Selection Committee will announce a “Watch List” that will be announced April 11th. The Selection Committee will develop the Watch List from nominations and other sources.  Players who blossom in the early part of their Senior Season can be added at any point in time by a Selection Committee member.

* Regional Senior All-Americans: On May 6, 2023, Regional Senior All-American Teams will be announced. Each Regional Senior All-American Team will consist of 20 players.

* Finalization of All-American Teams: By May 18, 2023, the two PGF High School All-American Teams will be selected. Each Team will consist of 3 pitchers, 3 catchers, 12 position players, and 2 alternates.

* Announcement of Team Rosters:  The PGF High School All-American Teams will be announced during the Women’s College World Series which runs from June 1-9, 2023.
