Tegan Gabrielse of the Virginia Unity – Johnson 14U team is a Top 25 pitcher in the 2025 Extra Elite 100 who loves to catch too.
At the D9 tournament in Orlando, Florida on October 24, 2020, she was warming up her friend and teammate Kadyn Campber when Tegan’s father, Alex Gabrielse, took this beautiful photo at 7:43 am before a game with the Ohio-Hawks 06 – Joseforsky.
As Tegan recalls: “I was warming up my pitcher because there’s nothing better than trusting someone to have your back and understands you. Being best friends and working as a battery, knowing what they do, sets them up for success. And that is what makes the team better.”
The talented young athlete is a pretty good catcher as she didn’t allow a passed ball in 22 innings this fall and gave up just four stolen bases. She can hit too, smashing five home runs in the fall, but the former Select 30 standout is primarily known for her pitching abilities thanks to her ability to throw effectively in the 60’s.
