On Wednesday, Athletes Unlimited announced the names of 13 top NCAA softball players who will be invited to compete among 60 of the sport’s best in the third championship season of Athletes Unlimited Softball this summer.
Headlining the list were all-time NCAA home run leader Jocelyn Alo from Oklahoma, 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year Keely Rochard from Virginia Tech, and Georgina Corrick of USF, who leads all active NCAA pitchers in innings pitched, strikeouts, complete games and shutouts.
Tickets for the third championship season of Athletes Unlimited Softball, which will return to the Chicago area at the Parkway Bank Sports Complex in Rosemont, Ill. and run from July 29 to August 28, are available now at auprosports.com/tickets.
All games will be broadcast live on ESPN platforms.
Athletes Unlimited Softball will expand this year to include a new two-week competition that will provide more playing opportunities and compensation to athletes, and more pro softball for fans.
The new competition – AUX Softball – will take place June 13-25, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Title IX on June 23. AUX Softball will feature 42 athletes playing 18 games in San Diego, with all 18 games broadcast live exclusively on ESPN platforms.

The 2022 Athletes Unlimited Softball Draft Class included the following 13 standouts
Jocelyn Alo, OF, University of Oklahoma
Alo is the NCAA’s all-time career home run leader with 111 (through May 1), and one of only three active NCAA Division I players with 300 or more hits. The native Hawaiian leads all NCAA Division I players with a .620 OBP and 1.161 SLG, ranks second in the nation with 23 home runs and third with a .473 batting average (through May 1). She is a three-time NFCA All-America selection, 2021 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.

Keely Rochard, RHP, Virginia Tech
The reigning ACC Pitcher of the Year has led this year’s regular season ACC champion Virginia Tech to a 39-6 record and the No. 2 national ranking. She leads the league in innings pitched (168.2) and strikeouts (279) this season (through May 1) and ranks second among all active NCAA Division I pitchers with 93 career wins and 86 career complete games.

Georgina Corrick, RHP, USF
Corrick set a new American Athletic Conference (AAC) single-season record with her 31st victory on May 1, and also leads the conference this season in innings pitched (238), strikeouts (357) complete games (29) and shutouts (18). She leads all active NCAA Division I pitchers in innings pitched (949.1), strikeouts (1,241), complete games (98) and shutouts (52). She has thrown two perfect games this season, becoming the first pitcher in USF history to achieve the feat.

Janae Jefferson, IF, University of Texas
Jefferson leads all active NCAA Division I players with 338 career hits (through May 1), which are also the most in Big 12 Conference and Texas history. She is a three-time NFCA All-America selection, including Second-Team honors in 2021, and has earned First-Team All-Big 12 Conference honors three times.

Danielle Gibson, IF, University of Arkansas
With 56 career home runs (through May 1), Gibson ranks ninth among all active NCAA Division I players, while her 204 career runs batted in rank fifth among active players. This season, Gibson leads the Southeastern Conference (SEC) with 124 total bases while ranking fourth in the league in hits (65) and RBI (54). She was a 2nd Team NFCA All-America selection in 2021 after hitting .355 with 15 home runs and 51 RBI.

Gabbie Plain, RHP, University of Washington
With 104 career victories for the Huskies (through May 1), Plain is one of only two active NCAA Division I players with 100 or more wins. She is second among active players with 44 career shutouts and fourth with 790 innings pitched. Plain was a top three finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award in 2021.

Mia Davidson, C, Mississippi State
With 89 career home runs, Davidson ranks second among all active NCAA Division I players, while ranking third among all active players in games played (258) and RBI (214). This season, she leads the SEC with 20 home runs and ranks second with 123 total bases.

Sydney Sherrill, IF, Florida State University
Sherill leads all active NCAA Division I players with 272 games played (through April 28) and 77 doubles, while ranking fifth among active players with 214 RBI. As a freshman in 2018, Sherrill led Florida State to the NCAA title, and was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 and 2021.

Hannah Adams, IF, University of Florida
A top 25 finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year in 2021 after earning Third-Team NFCA All-America honors, Adams ranks second among all active NCAA Division I players with 259 career games played (through May 1) and stands 10th among active players with 129 career walks.

Peyton St. George, RHP, Duke University
St. George was a First-Team All-ACC selection in 2021 after setting Duke records with 199 strikeouts and five saves while compiling an 18-8 record. This season, she has held opponents to a .181 batting average, the fourth-best mark in the ACC, while ranking seventh in the conference with a 1.69 ERA.

Maggie Balint, RHP, San Diego State University
Balint leads the Mountain West Conference this season with a 1.48 ERA, 232 strikeouts, six saves and a .176 opponent batting average, and is tied for second with 15 victories (through May 1). She ranks fifth among active NCAA Division I players with 13 career saves. She is a two-time All-Mountain West selection who earned NFCA All-Region distinction in 2021.

Mary Iakopo, C, University of Texas
A two-time All-Big 12 Conference honoree, Iakopo is tied for fourth among all active NCAA Division I players with 254 career games played. This season, she ranks fifth in the Big 12 with 42 RBI. Iakopo is also a two-time member of the USA Softball National Collegiate Player of the Year Top 50 Watch List.

Rachel Lewis, IF, Northwestern University
Lewis, Northwestern’s all-time home runs leader, stands third among active NCAA Division I players with 220 runs scored (through May 1) and 62 home runs while ranking fifth in stolen bases (98). This season, Lewis leads the Big Ten Conference in home runs (20), RBI (50), runs scored (57) and OPS (1.380). She is a three-time All-Big Ten selection, including unanimous First-Team distinction in 2021.
