Raegan Jennings, ranked as a Top 75 middle infielder in the Class of 2023 rankings, has been a star for Courtney Blades-Rogers’ Texas Dirt Divas 16U National team, helping the club team reach 9th at this year’s PGF Nationals and Colorado Sparkler Power Pool.
At the high school level, Raegan earned 1st Team All-District (21-6A) honors for Atascocita (Humble, Texas) High and was also Academic All-District and continued her strong Spring and Fall success into the Fall season as she hit .522 with a .532 on-base percentage and went 17-for-17 in steals in 28 games played.
The junior’s outstanding year was noticed by college coaches as well and the talented athlete found her future college home three weeks ago.
Here’s what Raegan had to say on why she picked Aggie Coach Jo Evans’s program…
Excited to announce I will be continuing my academic and softball career at the Texas A&M University! I would like to give a special thanks you to the Texas Dirt Divas coaches, JD Chandler, Kenny Thomas, Courtney Blades/Rogers. Beyond grateful for this opportunity! 🤍 #gigem pic.twitter.com/8Ffi0Bbv8B

Club Team: Texas Dirt Divas 16U National: Blades – Rogers
Committed To: Texas A&M University (College Station, TX)

What has been a top softball experience for you, one that has had a defining moment in your young softball career?
Winning the 11U Texas State Little League Champions (Huffman Little League) in 2017. This is where my drive to play softball at a higher level began!
How did Texas A&M come across you initially?
I started going to Texas A&M camps and attended all the camps I could. I didn’t know if they A&M was really interested in me until Sept. 1st when I received a call.
When did they actually offer you a scholarship?
November 15th.
So the Aggies staff offered and you committed the same day (Nov. 15)?
Yes, my parents and I had a great conversation with Coach Evans and Coach (Craig) Snider; they gave me my offer to play college softball at my dream school. I didn’t have to think about it, I knew where I wanted to go and I committed the day they offered.
What did Coach Evans and staff say they liked about your game enough to offer you?
They said they like my defensive skillset, ability to play multiple positions, my positive attitude and work ethic.
What was it about Texas A&M that made you decide it was the place for you?
I made my decision with the idea that—if my softball career ever ended—what university would I be happy attending to finish my degree. I love Texas A&M University and the fact that the A&M softball coaching staff and program is incredible is a plus.
Did you have help in making your decision?
My (Divas) head coach Courtney Blades-Rogers and my parents.
What will you study in college? Do you know what you’ll major in yet?
I want to study education and I am thinking of being a Primary Education teacher.
What’s something about you off the field that not many know?
I am a huge animal lover, especially my dog Max, he is a labradoodle. We often foster animals (dogs) that are in need of rehoming.
Where would you like to be in 10 years? 20 years?
I’d like to be a teacher, perhaps a Principal or Assistant Principal.
