On July 3, 2025, during the prestigious Colorado Sparkler, 2029 catcher Sophia Rohrbach was exactly where elite competitors want to be — behind the plate in a tight, high-level game in Denver.
After executing a hard tag at the plate to end an inning, Rohrbach stepped into the batter’s box to lead off her first at-bat of the tournament. It was a disciplined plate appearance. She battled through multiple pitches before an inside rise ball struck her directly on the thumb, ricocheting upward under her helmet.
