Texas State Championships Softball Tournament Returns to North Texas in 2026

The Texas State Championships softball tournament will return to North Texas June 5–7, 2026, bringing together top travel ball teams from across the Southwest for one of the region’s premier early-season fastpitch events.

Hosted by Triple Crown Sports, the tournament will take place across premier facilities in Plano, Allen, and McKinney, Texas, providing a competitive platform for teams ranging from 10U through 18U.

At Extra Inning Softball, we continue to highlight the tournaments that shape the early travel ball season and offer athletes meaningful opportunities to compete against strong competition. The Texas State Championships has steadily grown into one of those key benchmark events.

A Benchmark Event for the Southwest

Each year, the Texas State Championships attracts competitive teams eager to measure themselves against some of the strongest programs in the region. With divisions spanning youth and recruiting-age athletes, the event offers opportunities for developing teams and elite programs alike.

The tournament’s reputation as an early-season measuring stick continues to grow. Many programs use the weekend as a chance to identify strengths, adjust lineups, and gain valuable game experience before the summer tournament circuit reaches its peak.

According to tournament organizers, the event’s continued growth reflects both the quality of the facilities and the competitive environment created across all divisions.

Championship Format with Plenty of Games

One of the standout features of the Texas State Championships is its five-game guarantee, ensuring teams get significant playing time throughout the weekend.

Each participating team will compete in four pool play games, allowing coaches and players multiple opportunities to evaluate performance and adjust strategies. Following pool play, teams advance into single-elimination championship brackets, where the competition intensifies as programs battle for division titles.

This format creates a balanced tournament structure where teams are guaranteed valuable game reps while still competing for championship hardware.

Premier Facilities Across North Texas

Another reason the Texas State Championships continues to attract strong participation is the quality of the playing venues.

Games will be held at top-tier softball complexes in Plano, Allen, and McKinney, cities known for hosting high-level youth sporting events. These facilities provide professionally maintained fields, strong tournament infrastructure, and an environment capable of hosting hundreds of athletes and families throughout the weekend.

With games spread across several premier complexes, teams can expect a smooth tournament experience with consistent field conditions and organized scheduling.

A Key Recruiting Weekend

Beyond the competition itself, the Texas State Championships also aligns with a premier recruiting weekend, creating an added layer of excitement for older age divisions.

For athletes in 14U through 18U, the tournament provides a valuable opportunity to perform in front of college coaches evaluating talent during a critical recruiting period.

Many teams intentionally target this event as part of their recruiting schedule, knowing the tournament often draws attention from college programs looking to evaluate players early in the summer.

The combination of strong competition, excellent facilities, and recruiting visibility makes the Texas State Championships one of the most important early-season tournaments in the region.
