EXTRA ELITE SPOTLIGHT: TIA WARSOP
Oklahoma State-bound CF Tia Warsop, #14 in the 2023 Extra Elite 100, recently talked to Extra Inning Softball about Texas Glory, motivational apps, Team Great Britain, Triple Crown Colorado Sparkler, Texas Bombers, physical therapy, Oklahoma State, Kevin Shelton, Spanish music, “You” and wakesurfing with her dog.

Honors: All-Star; All-State; DFW Player of the Year; District MVP; ended with 81 hits (#1 in Texas); and #14 in the 2023 Extra Elite 100.
Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I have been playing with Glory since 12U.
Do you have any suggestions for training methods or apps and why? For mental health, I use the Bible app and motivational apps and then I just use the notes app to write down my workouts and keep track of them.
Can you tell us about your experience at PGF Nationals/Alliance Nationals this summer? I didn’t get to go to Nationals with my team this (past) year because I was playing with the Great Britain National Team.
What was your favorite fall tournament/event and why? My favorite is definitely the (Triple Crown) Sparkler in Colorado because you get to play with the mountains in the background.
Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? I would probably say the Bombers because we are always trying to battle with them.
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? Physical Therapy because I find that area interesting to learn about and when I’ve been injured in the past it really inspired me.
Can you tell us why you chose to commit to Oklahoma State? It felt like such a family feeling the second I was on campus.
Who is your sports hero and why? My sports hero would be Kevin Shelton because he has taught me not only skills for the field, but great mental skills as well.
What’s the best hype song and why? The best hype song would be probably any Spanish music because the beat just gets you going.
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? “You” on Netflix because it always leaves you guessing what’s going to happen next. It was never boring in the whole 3 seasons.
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I can wakesurf while holding my dog😊
