TAMPA MUSTANGS WIN 16U SEFL FALL TITLE

Tampa Mustangs-Rene closed out the fall season by winning the Southeastern Fastpitch League Fall Championships 16U title this past weekend in Clearwater, FL.

“The common theme/compliment we were continuing to receive from teams, fans, event staff and officials was how this team has such a strong team chemistry,” Mustangs coach Rene Ciccarello said.

With the victory, Tampa Mustangs-Rene earned a Tier 1 berth to the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series.

2023 C/1B Riley Onisawa led the offensive onslaught at the SEFL Fall Championships, batting .611 with 2023 1B Lauren Luciani coming in a close second with a .538 batting average for the weekend. Combined the pair contributed 18 hits, including 12 singles, six doubles and 10 RBIs.

Defensively, the team was rock-solid all around with notable performances from 2023 P Isabella Vega producing 25 strikeouts.

LADY SLUGGERS CLAIM 14U SEFL FALL TITLE
The Louisville Lady Sluggers 07 Wathen 2021 team earned a 14U berth to Alliance Nationals.

The Louisville Lady Sluggers 07-Wathen won the SEFL Fall 14U title this past weekend in Clearwater, FL, earning a Tier 1 berth to the AFCS in the process.

In bracket play, the Sluggers beat Louisville Lady Sluggers 07-Murphy, 14-3, before losing to Tamma Mustangs-Bell, 2-0, in the winner’s bracket.

The Sluggers had to beat AP Gold-Stewart, 9-3, EC Bullets 07-Branch, 6-5, Tampa Mustangs-Viruet, 6-2, SFL Diamond Dusters-de Leon, 7-6, in ITB and Fury Platinum X-Sharpe, 5-1, to earn a shots at EC Bullets Gold-Holcombe in the finals.

The Bullets, who already earned a Tier 1 AFCS berth, decided to catch a flight home and not play the finals, so the Sluggers were determined the champions.

Sluggers coach Shannon Wathen said 2026 P Layla Ogden (.545 AVG, .643 OBP, two doubles, 10 runs, 10 RBIs), 2026 CF/C/2B Hadley Borders (.444 AVG, .545 OBP) and 2025 SS/OF Jacie Rice (.312 AVG, .500 OBP) led the Sluggers for the weekend.
