Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I joined the Cal Nuggets 18U-Woods in the fall (of) 2022. I became involved with Cal Nuggets because a close friend referred us to Coach Haley Woods. This team has some of the best of the best girls in Northern California and I wanted to be on the best of the best fields. I was headed into my junior year and I wasn’t committed yet and I knew I had to make a move quickly. Once I made the team, I had to show out immediately to get playing time. Joining the Nuggets was the best decision I made. Coach Haley Woods is a great leader and has a great support staff that are geared towards sending girls to college to play softball.

Do you have any suggestions for training methods or apps and why? My biggest advice for student athletes is to get a trainer that you trust and that you see progress with.

I split time between my two trainers all year round. I work on core strength, conditioning, speed, agility, technique and recovery. It’s very important as athletes we understand the proper technique in working out and taking care of our bodies in recovery. Working out with my trainers and other athletes from other sports is just as important as working out. It gives me an opportunity to train and compete with other athletes. Twitter and instagram are highly known for softball recruiting and gave me a lot of exposure.

Can you tell us about your experience at PGF Nationals this past summer? My experience at PGF has been amazing! The first time I attended PGF, I had never seen so many college coaches all in the same place at once. Being at the right fields on the biggest stage like PGF is key in the recruiting process and, of course, when you play for an organization like Cal Nuggets the college coaches will be there to watch!

What was your favorite fall tournament/event and why? My favorite fall tournament was the (PGF) Las Vegas Showcase. Our team went 5-0 and I hit a grand slam in the first game. It also showed the adversity we had to overcome. We were down a pitcher and our whole team was sick. But we fought through it and stuck together to score runs.

Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? I think our toughest opponent we played were Sorcerer-Gabales. It is always a tough matchup because most of us grew up playing against those girls and it is always super competitive. They have good pitchers and hitters just like we do.

Can you tell us about your decision to commit to Boston University? As soon as I stepped foot on campus I knew it was the one. Coach Ashley Waters cares about her team’s well being while leading a winning culture at BU. The girls are all super competitive and I felt like I had an instant connection with the girls and coaches. In addition to being a part of a great softball program, BU offers a prestigious academic opportunity that will set me up for life. To be accepted into a university that is recognized for high accolades is truly an honor.

What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I love working with people and being involved with sports. I hope to get into business or sports marketing in the future where I can work with others and build connections that I will have for a lifetime.

Who is your sports hero and why? My sports hero in softball is Sis Bates. I love the way she plays the game while showing her athleticism and leadership on the field. She always has a smile on her face no matter how many times she fails.

What’s the best hype song and why? My best hype song is “Feelin Myself” by Mac Dre. Every time the song comes on, I start dancing and “feelin myself.” I like to represent my roots here in California and anytime this song comes on in the Bay Area we all get hyped and start dancing.

What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? My favorite show to binge is “Queen of the South” because it shows women empowerment and obstacles that a women from poverty has to face in order to succeed.

Do you have a secret talent/skill? I am a Hula dancer and use to do Tahitian dancing. I love dancing in general and everywhere I go I am always dancing and having fun.
