What will it take for your team to be successful this season?
More overall consistency from our team play and leadership from our older athletes along with cleaning up the small details.

Can you describe your pitching staff?
Solid, not over-powering, a little bit of everything. Madison Askins tops the radar at around 65 mph. The most consistency comes from senior RHP Lauren Narvaez and junior RHP, Lilliana Ramirez-Johnson. Additional support comes from senior Veronica Valadez and Junior Alyssa Rubalcava.

Can you describe your team’s offense and what some of the strengths are?
Good hitting team 1-9 with both power and speed through the lineup. Offensively, the team is led by Bella Martinez and Casey Beaulac, both of whom will be attending Hawaii in the fall. Oregon State-commit Kris Romulo is a nightmare for most teams to contain on the base paths. Senior Brooklynn Baruch is also a seasoned veteran to the Gold squad and sets the table as well as anyone in her class from both sides of the plate.

Can you describe your team’s defense and what some of the strengths are?
Fundamentally sound, smart defense led by junior Kate Tobola. Alexis Romero also contributes immensely on the defensive side of the ball. Senior leadership also keeps the pressure on the infield to a minimum.

Do you have an interesting factoid about your team?
People often think our team is from Hawaii, but we’re not … actually the Quarles brothers’ family is from the island of Kauai and that’s why the name (Ohana, which means family) is Hawaiian-based.
