Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with the team?
As I aged up to 16U, I wanted to play with the best and face the toughest competition possible. The Slugger organization is one of the best programs in the country and it was the best fit for me. Best softball decision I could have made. I love everything about my team and the organization!
How did your team do this last summer and in the fall?
We had a good summer and finished with a record of 24-12 against the best teams in the country. At TCS Fireworks, my team won the TV Power Pool and beat several teams ranked ahead of us. We didn’t quite reach our goal of a national championship, but finished the week 8-2. This fall, we had some players age up and added six new players for the fall roster. We have a very talented team and got better as the fall season progressed. I am excited for the summer!
What should we expect from your club team in the summer?
We will be extremely competitive and have one of the most aggressive schedules out there. Coach (Don) Murphy says “iron sharpens iron.” I agree 100 percent. You don’t get better playing mediocre competition.
What should we expect from your high school team this spring?
We have a very talented team, however, we are very young. With more experience and good competition, we expect to compete for our district championship.
Do you have a secret talent/skill?
I am good at story telling. I am told I have a good sense of humor. I can do a really good impersonation of Coach Murph.
What’s your most memorable softball story?
Not really a story, but one of my most memorable softball moments is playing at The Hall of Fame Stadium in the SEFL National Championships in Oklahoma City last summer.
