CAN’T STOP WON’T STOP WARRIOR
Ella Bruntjens, a 2022 LF/OF/2B for Indiana Gators 04-Craft and Grand Ledge High, MI, fractured the left metacarpal on her left hand doing a hook slide on Oct. 25, but that didn’t keep her down for long.
“I had to have surgery and pins placed on Nov. 4,” Bruntjens said. “Such a long recovery, but only made me have to work harder! Saturday was the first day I put on my glove.”
Bruntjens was back to doing what she does best and showing no ill effects of the injury this past past weekend at practice.
“It felt like a forever,” she said, “but just kept working on what I was able to do.”
Cleared! First practice since October with @INGatorsCraft. ***STAT OF THE DAY: The players on Hotshots Premier 18U-Dumezich’s roster have a combined 13 national championships amongst them.
***Gametime Premier 18U-Self, which placed fifth at the 16U USA Softball GOLD Nationals last summer, won a PGF Qualifier and placed second at the HFL West Fall Championship to earn a Tier 1 berth to the AFCS this fall. “Every girl is from Oklahoma,” Gametime coach Kady Self said of her roster.
***PA Strikers 18U National is all about team and doing everything as a team.
“All players on our team are required to stay at the same hotel when we travel (no exceptions),” Strikers coach Camille Hayes said. “They have a curfew each night and team breakfast together in full uniform on game days are a must. It’s become a tradition to move when coach yells out ‘the Striker Bus is leaving’ as we all head from the hotel to the fields together and then walk together, two by two to our warm-up location. No matter the outcome of the day, we leave the fields the same way we entered, two by two – together. All Striker players know that if they aren’t 15 minutes early for everything we plan, coach considers them late (don’t mess with coach when it comes to being on time).”
***Beverly Bandits DeMarini 11U-Bailey released its 2021 schedule.
