Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them?
I play for Texas Apex Fastpitch. I have known (Coach) Christine Summers since I was little and when I had the chance to play with her again I couldn’t miss it. Being the only team in an organization makes it feel like a family and this is the team that I have been able to have the most fun on. Coach Christine believes in all her players and that allows us to relax and play for each other. I wouldn’t want to finish out my select ball years on any other team.
Can you talk about your recruiting journey and how you ended up committing to Hampton University?
I’ve always wanted to go to an HBCU so Hampton had been one of my top picks. I visited other schools and liked them, but once I talked to Coach (Monique) White and her staff, I knew that’s where I wanted to go.

What are your thoughts on being the coach’s first commit?
It’s exciting knowing that I’m her first 2023 and her first overall commit! It always makes you feel good when someone wants you and she made me feel wanted in her program.
Do you have any recruiting advice for young players?
Choose a school based on how you feel about it. Don’t go because of the name or other people. Also, if you don’t commit your junior year, that is completely fine! It takes time to find the school for you, so don’t rush anything. Listen to the players that you talk to on visits and ask them lots of questions. They will sometimes tell you more about the lifestyle of a student-athlete than a coach will.
Do you have a secret talent/skill?
I really like math and I’m actually pretty good at it. I would count that as one of my best skills.
What’s your most memorable softball story?
Softball and baseball played at home during our first round in playoffs, and baseball’s district title games. We had just won our second game to make it to the second round and we hear that baseball won their game to be first in district. Everyone ran to the baseball field and we all took a picture screaming with our trophies. That was probably one of the most exciting moments I have experienced in high school ball.

NEWS & NOTES
***2024 RHP/SS/UT Sadie Ross injured her right knee during a basketball game last January, but she never stopped fighting to get back to Eaton High in Colorado and Triple Crown 18U Gold.
“Last January, I completely tore my ACL and meniscus playing basketball and had them repaired in March,” Ross said. “I have gone through nine months of physical therapy to get released to play again. Since then I have worked super hard on not only getting back to where I was, but getting better.”
“This has been more of a mental challenge than a physical one, but I’ve put my faith in God and kept striving to be the best version of myself each day. I am super excited to finally hit this milestone and am looking forward to what’s next.”
Just under 12 months ago I tore my ACL. Tonight I can officially say I’m back and making gains again! New PR! I’m happy to say I’m consistent at 67 again, and growing! @FloridaGators @_TimWalton @ExtraInningSB @Los_Stuff @KFPitching @CoachDeifel @BethTorina @OSUcoachG @boschml pic.twitter.com/GizbeGp0rT
