Tell us about your travel ball experiences up til now…
My first 16U season I was with So Cal Athletics-Limo, which was by far one of the best teams I have been on because of Coach Michael (Limonsero) and Brian and the team chemistry that they built with our team. We were like a family and were very successful. Because of COVID, our team had to discontinue and we had to find a new team. My friends Karina Nuez and Sammi Woods were both on Firecrackers Brashear teams and had nothing but good things to say.
I contacted Coach Sean (Brashear) and he invited me out for a workout and he found a spot on Coach Mike Smith’s team for me. I have been so grateful for the organization and all the great coaches like Sean Brashear and Mike Smith who have helped me become the player I am today and who have opened doors for me along the way. After I called Coach Brashear to tell him I committed to UTC, he told me that he had spoken to them about me a month prior. They truly do love their players and help in any way possible. You get back what you put in and I am grateful to be a part of their “family.”

How has your senior year at Mission Viejo High gone?
I have made the most out of my time in high school. I’ve been very involved at Mission Viejo, so it has made my senior year so much more fun. Being a part of the Associated Student Body (ASB), I was able to create relationships with a lot of the staff and new groups of students around school. I am the Spirit Commissioner, meaning I am in charge of our student sections and growing the spirit for up and coming Diablos. My favorite part of the year, besides this softball season, is definitely football season, because I get to help hype up the student section and how much energy each game brings every Friday night.
This year has by far been my favorite, especially because of softball. Being a four year varsity player and being chosen as a team captain my senior year has given me an opportunity to be the type of senior I wish I had when I was a freshman and help raise the bar for my teammates coming up behind me. We have had a very successful season, only losing a few games and winning the South Coast League for the second year in a row. Not only has it been competitive, but so insanely fun.
You and Mission Viejo play Millikan of Long Beach in the CIF-SS Division 2 finals on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, CA. What do you know about the Rams?
We know that they are aggressive and will not go down without a fight. They have fought for this spot just as we have and I am ecstatic that we get to compete against them this Friday at 6:30. They are a good team, we are a good team, it’s going to be a great game.
