EXTRA ELITE SPOTLIGHT: TINLEY GOODSON
2028 MIF Tinley Goodson recently talked to Extra Inning Softball about Hanover Lady Hornets 2027, strong work ethic, polishing up her lefty swing, USA East Coast Nationals, RVA Warriors 2K9, nursing, Sis Bates, Eminem, “Outer Banks” and tumbling.

Travel Ball Highlights/Summer Stats: Her team went 45-8-1 in the spring/summer for last year of 12U. USA March Madness champions, USA Summer Kickoff champions, PGF Tarheel Classic champions and USA East Coast National champions. .559 AVG with a 1.224 OPS of 1.224, 71 hits, 44 RBIs, 48 run and was 35 of 37 in stolen bases.
Tell us about your travel team/organization and how you became involved with them? I currently play for Hanover Hornets 2027. I was looking for a competitive team to challenge me and the Hornets play a competitive schedule with a great reputation of being the best.
What do you bring to the team? I have a very strong work ethic, I’m a leader with my teammates and I work hard every day. I also am very versatile and can play multiple positions! I also can switch-hit and slap, which gives my coaches a lot of options! I’m very coachable and I’m a team-first player.
What areas are you focusing on/trying to improve this fall? Trying to polish up my lefty swing (natural right-handed) and to get faster and stronger! Also, reading the defense at the plate.
Can you tell us about your experience at national events this summer? Our team won the USA East Coast Nationals. We had a great week, going 6-0 and me and two of my teammates won the roadrunner contest!
Which player/team was your toughest opponent and why? RVA Warriors 2K9 out of Chesterfield, VA. We play each other all the time locally in the championships, so we know all their strengths and weaknesses. We’re also real close friends with all the players.
What areas are you interested in future occupations and why? I would love to go into nursing and to be able to help people.
Who is your sports hero and why? I would say Sis Bates and Grace Lyons. They both play middle infield and they are great role models.
What’s the best hype song and why? Anything Eminem because it gets me pumped up!
What’s your favorite TV show to binge and why? “Outer Banks,” because it’s based close to home and we vacation in OBX a lot.
Do you have a secret talent/skill? I am also a competitive cheerleader, who is a flyer and tumbler!
