Here’s a fun history lesson for you… nearly 100 years ago–in 1925–there was a big music record hit of the day called “I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream” (we kid you not!) by Waring’s Pennsylvanians.
Important note: some of us may be old but we weren’t around to hear it in person back then!
Check out this YouTube clip of the song and note that the singing doesn’t come in for about 38 seconds!
So why bring up this novelty song–half of which we don’t understand?
Because today is (drum roll please)….
Thurs., September 22nd or National Ice Cream Cone Day!!!
That’s right… it’s OK (you have our permission!) to go treat yourself to your favorite flavor, be it vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or some more “wild” flavors like cookies & cream, birthday cake, perhaps even our favorite–chocolate chip cookie dough!

Last week we posted a story requesting photos of you softballers “in action” enjoying a treat off the field… thanks to all those who participated!
Here is our winning entry… congratulations to the Atlanta Vipers 14U Gold team who had an ice cream party at Brusters in Marietta, Georgia, after holding a home run derby at practice!
Looks like everyone was a winner in this case!
