Texas A&M will hire Trisha Ford as their new head coach, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Monday evening.

Currently the head coach at Arizona State, Ford spent the last six years leading the Sun Devils’ program. Highlights of her tenure included a Women’s College World Series berth in 2018 and the PAC-12 regular season title in 2022.

Ford collected a 211-84 overall record during her time at ASU, including a 70-44 showing in conference play.

Prior to taking the reins at ASU, Ford spent four years as the head coach at Fresno State and a pair of seasons leading St. Mary’s College, her alma mater. Her resume also includes a 9-year stint as an assistant coach at Stanford.

Texas A&M finished the 2022 season with a 31-28 overall record and a 6-18 showing against SEC opponents. Hall of Fame head coach Jo Evans departed the program on May 23rd after her contract was not renewed following 26 seasons at the helm of the program.
