Twitter Tales: A Look at PGF Nationals From the Participants Point of View Including the PGF All-Stars

The swag for the 2022 PGF All-Star Games came from sponsors such as Diamond, The Gluv, New Balance, Easton, Rawlings and PGF.

The action continues to pick up on the fields in Huntington Beach, Irvine and Fountain Valley, California as the 2022 PGF Nationals for 18U and 16U continue to progress towards Friday’s championships in the Platinum divisions and Saturday in the Premier divisions.

Also on Saturday, the All-Star Games, both Senior and Futures, will be held.

Once thing PGF–which is in its 13th year–knows how to do well is to showcase the beautiful weather and locations around Southern Cal.

Yesterday, the two All-Star teams received their equipment and swag in pretty enjoyable ways: the Futures team–consisting of juniors and sophomores–enjoyed a night at Dave & Busters in Orange, Cali. where they and their families enjoyed playing games and having dinner.

The Seniors, meanwhile, spent the evening on a PGF-chartered yacht cruise for four hours floating around Newport Harbor after being greeted with a Hawaiian lei and being welcomed by softball great and current broadcaster Amanda Freed.

Then came the goodies as the players received all types of gear and swag including uniforms, cleats, socks, helmets, bags and bat bags from the list of prestigious sponsors that included Diamond, The Gluv, New Balance, Easton, Rawlings and PGF, which gave each player a blanket, water bottle and other miscellaneous items.

Check out these tweets from the players and PGF showing what was distributed:

During yacht cruise from 3 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, the Senior team received their gear and tried everything on to make sure it fit; if not, there was some swapping and trading going on but everyone eventually got exactly what they need.

Each athlete was able to bring their parents and, according to one attendee, “It was an unbelievably fun time and the weather was gorgeous!”

The Senior Game will be broadcast live on ESPN2 this Saturday… check your listings for the exact time.

Overall, the athletes and coaches at PGF Nationals are having fun as they are enjoying the competition as well as the nice experience that is Southern California.
