One of the standouts at last month’s Select 30 National Training Camp, which ran from Friday, Dec. 27 through Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at the USSSA Space Coast Complex in Viera, Florida was 2022 shortstop Alana Johnson from Summit, Mississippi and a member of the MS Elite – Gatlin club team. She attends Parklane Academy of McComb, Miss.
Alana dominated in the Skills Challenge held on the last day as she finished 1st in the 20-Yard-Dash with a 2.88 second time (done by laser, not stopwatch) and tied for 3rd in the Overhand Velocity testing with a 65-mph throw.
Here’s an interview done with her during the week… keep an eye out for this Southern talent who will likely see her stock skyrocket after a great performance at the Select 30!
I had an awesome experience participating in the @usaeliteselect select 30. I had the fastest 20 yard dash time with lasers (2.88), 3 in over hand velocity(65), & tops in other categories. So thankful for this opportunity. @TheMeganWiggins @chelseagoodacre @ExtraInningSB pic.twitter.com/W1nrYJ8XVf
