The COVID-19 pandemic has taken lives and changed our sense of normalcy, but in the midst of tragedy hospital staffs across the world continue to put their lives on the line every day to help those suffering.
The Turnin2 (“T2) 14U players coached by Tony Badillo and based in Brighton, Michigan took it upon themselves to create a care package for local hospital staff and—under the organizations theme of “T2 Here for Hope”—each team member recorded a special message of thanks and gratitude.
“Turnin2 sends blessings to all of those working the front lines, keeping our friends and family safe. You are truly heroic!” said Rodney Roberson, the Director of Softball for T2, and added, “Some players sent baskets to the same hospital but in general the goal was to minimize travel and have the families drop off baskets close to their homes.”
Here is the list of the nine hospitals that received gift baskets (cities are in parentheses): Beaumont Hospital (Trenton) • Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Detroit) • Ascension St. John Hospital (Detroit) • Heartland Health Care Center (Dearborn Heights) • Beaumont Hospital (Troy) • Detroit Medical Center Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (Commerce Township) • Henry Ford Hospital (Wyandotte) • St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Ann Arbor (Ypsilanti) • Woodland Hospital (Brighton).
