The first team in Oregon State softball history to advance to the Women’s College World Series, the 2006 Beavers, has been inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame as a part of the 2023 class.

The hall of fame induction ceremony took place on Nov. 10 in the Toyota Club level of Reser Stadium. The 2023 Hall of Fame Class was also recognized on the field during the Oregon State-Stanford football game on Nov. 11 at Reser Stadium.

The 2006 Oregon State team featured two All-Americans, six All-Pac-10 honorees and five all-region selections. The Beavers finished the season with a 43-16 overall record.

The Beavers reeled off a 28-game winning streak during the 2006 season and posted 17 wins over ranked opponents.

Pitcher Brianne McGowan earned First Team All-America honors, while Cambria Miranda was named Third Team All-American.

Under the direction of former head coach Kirk Walker, Oregon State opened NCAA Tournament play as the host of the Corvallis Regional. The Beavers defeated Nevada and then beat Baylor twice to advance to the Super Regional.

Staying at home, the Beavers hosted the Super Regional against California. The Golden Bears won the opening game of the Super Regional, but Oregon State bounced back to defeat Cal twice to earn the school’s first-ever trip to the Women’s College World Series.

At the WCWS, the Beavers lost to Pac-10 foes Arizona and Arizona State.
