2026 Extra Elite 100 Candidate Morgan Fitzpatrick: “From Day 1, She’s Lived & Breathed Softball!”

Morgan Fitzpatrick could be the second Extra Elite 100 player in her family as she’s following in the footsteps of her sister, Callie, a 5-foot-8 outfielder in the 2024 class.

Morgan Fitzpatrick, a 2026 infielder with the So Cal A’s – Fitzpatrick/Briggs club team, has grown up at the softball fields watching her older sister Callie Fitzpatrick—a 2024 Extra Elite 100 honoree—play.

“From Day 1,” says the athlete’s father, Luke, “Morgan has always lived and breathed softball.”

She’s certainly been around the fields for as long as she can remember and has quite the family background in sports.

Morgan’s dad pitched for the Long Beach State Dirtbags and was a minor leaguer with the Chicago White Sox. Her mom and current coach, Candace, played outfield at San Diego State. Along with Callie, her brother Carson loves all sports and plays baseball, football and basketball. She even has an aunt, Jessica Johnson, who pitched at Oklahoma for Patty Gasso.

The standout from Long Beach, California, was fortunate to always be able to practice with her older sister’s rec league all-star teams when she was 6 and her sister’s older travel balls teams.

“Morgan has made a name for herself by out grinding the other kids and having a knowledge of the game beyond her years,” continues her father. “She loves watching college softball on TV and in person as well as Dodgers baseball.”

Listed by several other club coaches as a Top 20-candidate in her class, Morgan is praised for her softball IQ and at the plate, she is following in Callie’s footsteps and reputation for smashing the ball with an exit velocity around 70 mph.

Last year, she hit third in her team’s competitive line up and led the A’s in home runs and batting average. On defense, one of her strength’s is her versatility: she pitches, plays shortstop, third and second.

Morgan was one of a few 2008 players to be chosen to play in the USA All American Games held last August in Oklahoma City which featured the top 2007 players from around the country.

Her team made it to the semi-finals out of 16 teams and she started the game on the mound while also playing in the outfield and at first and second base.

After starting pitching lessons at the tender age of 6, Morgan has had a lot of national success including leading her team on the mound and at the plate to a Triple Crown Sports national championship as well as a Top 10 finish at PGF Nationals in second year 10’s.

Here’s more from the fast-rising 2026 prospect who wants to be an MLB announcer when she grows up…
