The road to the Extra Inning Softball Class of 2030 National Rankings is well underway, and every nomination represents another athlete taking the next step toward national recognition.
Each week, Watchlist Wednesday shines a spotlight on a select group of nominated Class of 2030 athletes from across the country. While these players have not yet been ranked, they have officially entered the evaluation process and are being considered through Extra Inning Softball’s proprietary SERV™ Methodology.
Today’s featured athletes represent only a small sample of the talented players currently being evaluated by the Rankings Committee. Their inclusion in Watchlist Wednesday is not a ranking or prediction of where they may finish, but rather recognition of the hard work, dedication, and performance that earned them a nomination.
Before You Dive In..
The Class of 2030 National Rankings feature a streamlined nomination process, a new 5-Star Rating System, expanded athlete profiles, and stronger verification standards using verified statistics.
Every nominated athlete is evaluated through the SERV™ Methodology—Software, Evaluate, Research, and Verify—to ensure a consistent, research-driven, and objective evaluation.
Every ranked athlete receives an individual national ranking with no tied placements, and the recognition continues beyond the rankings with the upcoming Class of 2030 Futures Watchlist.
Recommendations Are Not Nominations
One of the most common questions during the rankings cycle is the difference between a recommendation and a nomination.
Extra Inning Softball has received hundreds of recommendations from coaches, parents, and members of the softball community recognizing athletes they believe deserve national attention. Those recommendations help the Rankings Committee identify emerging talent, but they do not enter an athlete into the rankings process.
To be considered for the Class of 2030 National Rankings, every athlete must be officially nominated. Families and coaches are encouraged to review the Recommended Athletes List and make sure deserving players complete the nomination process.

Watchlist Wednesday Athletes
The athletes featured below are among the many talented Class of 2030 players currently being evaluated from across the country. Each has officially been nominated and is now part of the national evaluation process.
Samantha Amparan | Corner Infielder | Class of 2030
A dependable presence on both sides of the ball, Samantha Amparan continues to make an impact for BSC Bengals Latta as one of California’s rising Class of 2030 corner infielders. Playing primarily at first and third base, the North Hills native has built a reputation for her competitive mindset, leadership, and ability to perform in pressure situations.
Amparan’s dedication to her craft earned her an invitation to the 2025 HPP National Selection Event, recognizing her among the promising young athletes in the region. Coaches also praise her ability to make quick adjustments during an at-bat, allowing her to compete with confidence against quality pitching.
Beyond her on-field performance, Amparan is known for the energy she brings to her team. Whether she’s encouraging teammates from the dugout or competing between the lines, she consistently demonstrates a team-first attitude and a passion for the game that stands out to those around her.
With her work ethic, versatility in the corners, and competitive drive, Amparan is among the athletes nominated for consideration in the upcoming Extra Inning Softball Class of 2030 National Rankings.
Carleigh Hamilton | Outfielder | Class of 2030
Few Class of 2030 athletes have assembled a résumé as impressive as Carleigh Hamilton. The Charles Town, West Virginia, standout patrols the outfield for VA Glory National 16U, where she has consistently competed against elite competition while earning recognition on the national stage.
Hamilton’s list of accomplishments includes selection to the HPP National Selection Event, two USA Softball All-American honors, a Select 30 championship, and invitations to some of the sport’s premier events. She also led the Alliance Championship Series in every offensive category at the 14U level, earned Alliance Fall Championship All-Tournament Team honors, and was named Offensive MVP at both the Houston and Panama City All-American Games.
Her athletic ability extends well beyond the softball field. Hamilton is a middle school shot put champion, trains in CrossFit with Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent, and even holds a World Title in Point Karate, demonstrating the strength, discipline, and competitive mindset that have fueled her success.
With a proven track record of excelling against top competition and a growing list of national accolades, Hamilton continues to establish herself as one of the premier athletes in the Class of 2030. She is among the players nominated for consideration in the upcoming Extra Inning Softball Class of 2030 National Rankings.
Catalina Calabrese | Middle Infielder | Class of 2030
Catalina Calabrese has established herself as one of the Northeast’s rising Class of 2030 middle infielders. The Trumbull, Connecticut, standout competes for the CT Timberwolves, primarily at shortstop and second base.
Calabrese backed up that recognition with impressive offensive production, hitting .454 with a .497 on-base percentage and 1.129 OPS. Across 198 plate appearances, she collected 79 hits, 13 doubles, six triples, two home runs, and 46 RBIs, showcasing an ability to consistently produce at the plate.
Her impact extends to the defensive side, where her athleticism and versatility have helped her become a dependable presence in the middle infield. Coach Jill O’Connell describes Calabrese as an extremely driven athlete whose talent is matched by her character and commitment to being an outstanding teammate.
With strong production, regional recognition, and a competitive mindset, Calabrese continues to build an impressive résumé as her game develops. She is among the athletes nominated for consideration in the Extra Inning Softball Class of 2030 National Rankings.
Kaylee Ayson | Pitcher/Hitter | Class of 2030
A true two-way presence, Kaylee Ayson continues to make an impact both in the circle and at the plate for Corona Angels Smith 14U. The West Sacramento, California, standout competes primarily as a pitcher and first baseman, bringing versatility and production against high-level travel ball competition.
In the circle, Ayson recorded 136 strikeouts across 119.1 innings pitched during the 2025–26 season. Her impact was equally impressive offensively, as she hit .354 with a .495 on-base percentage and 1.085 OPS, while collecting 19 doubles, three triples, three home runs, and 56 RBIs.
Ayson’s performance also earned her a player invitation to the Zoom Into June Showcase Games. Coach Andy Smith describes her as a dedicated and coachable athlete who embraces competition, consistently looks for opportunities to improve, and brings a team-first attitude to the field.
With the ability to contribute in multiple phases of the game, Ayson continues to develop as a well-rounded Class of 2030 prospect. She is among the athletes nominated for consideration in the Extra Inning Softball Class of 2030 National Rankings.
