2027 Extra Elite 100 Player Profile: Jayla Santana, #4 Overall in Her Class, Shares Approach to the Game, Strengths on the Field, and Favorite Memories

Jayla Santana, a first baseman and utility player for the elite Georgia Impact 16U Premier, led by Coach Teo Caymol, has begun to make a name for herself in the softball community, establishing herself as a “player to watch” as the athlete’s junior year of high school approaches.

Ranked #4 in the Nation for the Class of 2027 in the Extra Elite Top 100 Rankings, Jayla’s stats at both the club and high school levels have set her apart from her peers. The only freshman that made the varsity squad at Hillgrove High School—located in Powder Springs, Georgia—Jayla earned Region 3-7A 1st Team All-Region this fall, after improving her career home run record to a total of 32.

Following this impressive season, MaxPreps named Jayla Freshman Home Run Leader in the state of Georgia, and she was invited to represent Region 3 in the High Performance Program (“HPP”) National Selection Event for Team USA in Vero Beach, Florida. The event will take place from November 30th to December 3rd.

Over the summer, Jayla also joined Team Dominican Republic International Olympic Team at the Triple Crown International Challenge (“TCIC”), where she was the youngest athlete in the program’s history at 13 years old, competing in the 18U division. During competition, the talented 2027 drove two home runs over the fence against Team Central America and Team Philippines while in Colorado this past June.

Additionally, Jayla was honored by Minority Softball Prospects with an invitation to compete among the Top 30 athletes in the Class of 2027 at the 1st annual High School All-American Games, which will take place during November in Orlando, Florida.
