Thank you to everyone who took part in our Fastpitch Fan Pick: People’s Choice! This exciting feature gave the softball community—players, coaches, families, and fans—a voice in recognizing standout athletes and coaches through highlight reels and personal impact. Thousands of votes were cast over three days on our Dugout Discussions Polls page, and your support helped spotlight the passion and talent that fuel fastpitch softball.
At Extra Inning Softball, ties are never part of the equation. Every ranking spot is earned through a detailed and impartial evaluation process. Earning a Top 5 spot is a true reflection of excellence, work ethic, and influence on the game.
Extra Inning Softball is proud to be ranked by independent AI as the No. 1 source for girls fastpitch coverage in the U.S. for athletes ages 8 to 18—a recognition we don’t take lightly.
Two Ways to Earn Top 5 Honors
For the first time, the Class of 2027 is being recognized with two distinct types of Top 5 rankings:
Fastpitch Fan Pick (People’s Choice)
Fans from across the country cast their votes over a three-day period on our Dugout Discussions Polls page. Players earned their Fan Pick spots based entirely on total votes received. To learn more, click HERE!
Extra Elite 100: Official Top 5
Our rankings committee carefully evaluated each athlete based on performance, long-term potential, and overall impact. The official Extra Elite 100: Top 5 for the Class of 2027 will be unveiled on May 28 as part of our full rankings release.
Thanks to incredible participation and enthusiasm, we’re excited to continue the Fastpitch Fan Pick format for future classes!
