Extra Inning Softball has officially opened nominations for its Class of 2030 National Rankings, marking the beginning of the next national evaluation cycle while introducing several significant enhancements designed to improve the nomination experience, strengthen the evaluation process, and provide greater recognition for athletes across the country.

A Faster, Better Nomination Experience
Following months of development and feedback from coaches, parents, and the Rankings Committee, Extra Inning Softball has launched a completely redesigned nomination form that reduces the submission process by half the time while making it easier to provide the information necessary for a thorough evaluation.
The updated process allows coaches and families to submit stronger nominations while improving efficiency for both nominators and the Rankings Committee.
New 5-Star Rating System
One of the most exciting additions to this year’s rankings is the introduction of Extra Inning Softball’s new 5-Star Rating System.
Every ranked athlete will now receive both a national numerical ranking and a 5-Star Rating, offering additional insight into each player’s overall evaluation and long-term potential.
Each ranked athlete will also receive an expanded player profile featuring:
- National Ranking
- 5-Star Rating
- Athlete Photo
- Player Biography
The rankings will once again be presented through Extra Inning Softball’s interactive leaderboard experience, making it easier than ever for college coaches, travel organizations, families, and fans to explore and celebrate athletes from across the country.
Stronger Verification Standards
To continue improving the integrity of the rankings process, verified performance data is now required.
Nominators must submit screenshots from platforms such as GameChanger, AGL, or another verified statistics platform as part of the nomination process. This additional verification allows the Rankings Committee to confirm performance information while ensuring every athlete is evaluated using consistent standards.
A Rankings Process Built on Credibility
Extra Inning Softball continues to distinguish itself through a comprehensive evaluation process designed to recognize athletes based on verified performance, long-term development, and national competitiveness.
While another rankings company recently published 605 athletes tied in its Top 100 for the Class of 2030, Extra Inning Softball does not use tied rankings. Every athlete earns an individual national ranking through our proprietary SERV Methodology and comprehensive evaluation process.
“CEO Bonnie Holland shared: Our philosophy has always been that athletes deserve an honest evaluation,” said the Extra Inning Softball Rankings Committee. “Every ranking represents months of research, discussion, verification, and collaboration. We do not publish tied rankings because every athlete earns an individual placement through our evaluation process.”
The evaluation process is guided by Extra Inning Softball’s proprietary SERV Methodology, which includes:
(S) Software — Organizing and analyzing nomination data through proprietary technology.
(E) Evaluate — Comprehensive review conducted by the National Rankings Committee.
(R) Research — Tournament evaluations, performance history, statistics, schedules, and athlete development.
(V) Verify — Cross-checking information through verified statistics, Region Leaders, trusted coach feedback, and multiple layers of review.
Combined with national scouting, regional expertise, and committee collaboration, the SERV Methodology helps ensure every nomination receives a consistent and objective evaluation.
Looking Beyond the Rankings
The Class of 2030 Regional and National Rankings represent only the beginning of the recognition cycle.
Approximately six months following the publication of the national rankings, Extra Inning Softball will release its Class of 2030 Futures Watchlist, providing another opportunity for developing athletes to earn national recognition while continuing to showcase emerging talent from across the country.
Together, the rankings and Futures Watchlist create an ongoing evaluation platform that recognizes athletes throughout multiple stages of their development.
Coaches and Parents Encouraged to Collaborate
While parents are welcome to submit nominations, Extra Inning Softball encourages families to collaborate with their athlete’s coach whenever possible to ensure nominations include the most accurate statistics, tournament information, and supporting materials.
Organizations and coaches are also encouraged to share nomination information with their athletes and families so qualified players do not miss the opportunity for consideration.
