The Ronald McDonald Tournament softball event will return to the Greater Houston area October 16–19, 2026, continuing its legacy as one of the most respected fall recruiting tournaments in fastpitch. Hosted by Triple Crown Sports, the event blends high-level competition with meaningful community impact, creating a unique experience for teams competing at the 14U through 18U levels.
At Extra Inning Softball, we recognize tournaments that not only elevate competition but also contribute to something greater. Few events in the country balance elite recruiting exposure with charitable impact quite like the Ronald McDonald Tournament.
Now entering its 34th year, the tournament has grown from a modest regional event into a major destination on the college recruiting calendar, attracting programs and athletes from across the nation.

A Tournament Built on Impact
Beyond the field, the Ronald McDonald Tournament stands apart for its longstanding commitment to giving back.
Over the years, the event has generated more than $850,000 in donations for Ronald McDonald House Charities, directly supporting families facing medical challenges. The tradition continues in 2026, with $100 donated for every participating team, ensuring that each program contributes to a cause that extends far beyond the game.
This combination of competition and purpose has helped define the tournament’s identity for more than three decades.

A Premier Recruiting Platform
The Ronald McDonald Tournament is widely recognized as a key recruiting event, particularly for athletes competing in the 16U and 18U divisions.
The Open Divisions feature a showcase-style format with a five-game guarantee, allowing athletes multiple opportunities to perform in front of college coaches. These divisions consistently draw strong recruiting attendance, making them a priority stop for programs seeking exposure at the highest level.
For players looking to compete beyond Division I pathways, the City of Lights Division offers a tailored recruiting environment.
Designed for athletes projecting to compete at the NCAA Division II, Division III, JUCO, and NAIA levels, this division focuses on creating opportunities for a broader range of players. In accordance with NCAA rules, scores are not recorded, and Division I coaches are not in attendance, allowing for a more targeted recruiting experience.

Emerging Opportunities at 14U
The 14U Road to the Rockies Division, entering its second year in 2026, continues to grow in significance.
This division features a three-game pool play format followed by a single-elimination bracket, giving younger teams the opportunity to compete in a structured championship environment.
The stakes are elevated with a unique incentive—the championship team earns a paid entry into the 14U POWER POOL division at the 2027 Colorado 4th of July event, making this one of the most sought-after opportunities for emerging programs.
With limited spots available, this division is expected to fill quickly as teams look to position themselves for future national exposure.

Instructional Camp Experience
The Ronald McDonald Tournament weekend begins with a high-impact instructional camp designed to connect athletes directly with college coaches.
Held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 6:00–9:00 PM at Collins Park, the camp provides a hands-on environment where players can showcase their skills while learning from experienced collegiate coaches.
Athletes will participate in:
- Position-specific instruction
- High-energy skill development drills
- Competitive gameplay scenarios
- Direct feedback from college coaches
This format allows players to demonstrate coachability, work ethic, and game awareness, while also gaining valuable insights into what it takes to compete at the next level.
