Extra Inning Softball is thrilled to introduce Ally Judkins as our new Managing Editor, marking an exciting new chapter for our growing editorial team. This leadership transition comes as Jayden Mount, our current Editor, shifts into a new role as Editorial and Community Engagement Specialist—a move that reflects both growth and renewed focus across the board. This announcement spotlights Judkins’ impressive background, her coaching and media experience, and what her addition means for the future of our platform.
Judkins poses on campus after graduating with dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Sports Business Management from UCF in Orlando, Fla.
Judkins is a former collegiate athlete who began her softball journey at Northwest Community College. During her two seasons, she started every game and earned All-American honors twice, also setting multiple program records. She later earned a scholarship to the University of Mobile, where she completed her college playing career.

Strong Foundation in Sports Media
While at Mobile, Judkins discovered her passion for sports communication and branding. She worked in the athletic department under the Sports Information Director, gaining experience in scheduling, stat tracking, and social media management. She was instrumental in overhauling the university’s digital presence, strengthening the connection between athletes and their audience.
Judkins also supported international student-athletes, helping them adjust to U.S. academic and athletic culture—an experience that deepened her commitment to mentorship and leadership in the sport.

Coaching, Community, and Creativity
Judkins coached from 2016 to 2021 with a Memphis-based travel organization, guiding players toward college-level readiness. In 2023, she stepped into a dual role at Rhodes College as both assistant softball coach and Interim Sports Information Director.

That summer, she coached for America’s Team in an international showcase in the Dominican Republic, leading players through cultural exchanges and elite-level competition. Later that year, she moved to Orlando and enrolled at the University of Central Florida, where she earned two master’s degrees—one in Sports Business Management and another in Business Administration.
During her time at UCF, she worked with professional sports teams in areas including community relations, marketing, partnerships, and media—building on her already strong foundation in leadership and brand development.

What She Brings to Extra Inning Softball
Now in her second season as a coach at Rhodes, Judkins continues to offer private instruction focused on slapping, fielding, and the increasing speed of the modern game. Her ability to teach, mentor, and lead makes her an ideal addition to the Extra Inning Softball editorial team.
As Managing Editor, Judkins will take the lead on daily editorial operations, guiding content planning, editing, and publication. She will collaborate closely with contributors and staff nationwide to ensure timely, high-quality coverage that reflects the mission of Extra Inning Softball.
“I’m honored to join this all-women team and contribute to a platform that uplifts athletes at every level,” Judkins said. “Softball has shaped my life, and I’m passionate about giving back through stories that inspire and connect.”
Off the field, Judkins will be celebrating a new milestone—her upcoming marriage to fiancé Caleb Huynh. The couple will tie the knot in summer 2025, marking a joyful new chapter in both her personal and professional journey.
