April Recap
Throughout April, Extra Inning Softball continued its commitment to spotlighting standout players, coaches, and influencers through our Voices From the Field series. This month, we proudly featured four individuals who are leaving a lasting impact on the future of fastpitch softball: Trinity Hargrett, Elle Osborne, Maddi White, and Arkansas softball advocates Karen Sanders and Kyle Sutherland. Their stories embody leadership, perseverance, and the drive to push the sport forward.
Trinity Hargrett: A Rising Star and Role Model
Named the No. 1 infielder in the 2029 Extra Elite 100 Rankings and winner of the Fastpitch Fan Pick, Trinity Hargrett has quickly captured national attention with her leadership, work ethic, and all-around skillset. Representing Impact Gold National 2029 – Holmes, Hargrett consistently competes at the highest level against top national talent.
In her exclusive interview, Hargrett shared her early love for the game, the major influence of her parents, and her ambitious goals to play Division I and professional softball. Her humility, drive, and commitment to being a role model for younger players make her one of the most exciting young infielders in the country.

Elle Osborne: Redefining the Catcher’s Role
As the Extra Elite 100 No. 1 catcher for the Class of 2029, Elle Osborne is raising the standard behind the plate. An eighth grader at Pleasant Hill Middle School in California, Osborne’s elite athleticism, quick rise, and fierce competitive spirit are reshaping how young athletes impact the game.
In her feature, Osborne reflected on the importance of confidence, adaptability, and work ethic in building her success. Her rapid development and command of the game behind the dish signal a bright future not only for herself but for the evolution of the catcher position at the youth level.

Maddi White: A Dominant Two-Way Force
Maddi White, the No. 1 ranked pitcher in the 2029 Extra Elite 100, has cemented her status as a dominant force in the circle and a powerful two-way athlete. Hailing from Clarksville, Tennessee, White’s composure, command, and relentless drive have made her a player to watch on the national stage.
White’s interview offered a glimpse into the mindset required to balance excellence on both offense and defense. Focused, confident, and consistently clutch, she is redefining what it means to be a complete player—setting an example for the next generation of two-way standouts.

Karen Sanders & Kyle Sutherland: Building Arkansas Softball’s Future

In addition to standout players, Voices From the Field this month highlighted two influential leaders making an impact off the field: Karen Sanders and Kyle Sutherland. Sanders, a championship-winning coach and mentor, and Sutherland, a leading journalist covering Arkansas high school sports, bring valuable perspective to the growth and evolution of softball in the state.
Their interviews provided insight into the rise of Arkansas softball culture, the development of young talent, and the importance of community investment in the sport’s continued success.
