Extra Inning Softball Staff
September 2, 2025 | 8:00 AM ET
Throughout August, Extra Inning Softball continued its Voices from the Field series—our editorial spotlight that gives athletes, teams, and influencers room to reflect on their journeys and share what drives them. This month’s features showcased purpose, resilience, and leadership through five compelling spotlights: 2027 middle infielder Peyton Tsao, 2028 pitcher Addison Snell, the Israel 18U National Softball Team, 2027 utility standout Brynlee Hopkins, and 2028 catcher/utility Addison Davis. Together, their stories reveal why mindset matters as much as metrics in fastpitch.

Did you know Extra Inning Softball has a podcast?
With dozens of powerful episodes and counting, our Voices from the Field Podcast features real stories from athletes, coaches, and influencers shaping the game. If you love fastpitch, this is one series you don’t want to miss.
Peyton Tsao: Reliability, Preparation, and Emerging Leadership
Representing Saint Francis High School (Mountain View, California) and FC Select Leles 2026, Peyton Tsao has methodically built one of the strongest resumes in her class. From high-profile tournaments to national training opportunities, Tsao pairs consistent production with steady communication and poise at shortstop and second base. Her feature underscores the series’ mission: celebrate the habits behind the highlights—and the teammate who makes everyone around her better.

Addison Snell: Faith, Perseverance, and Purpose
Addison Snell, a 2028 pitcher from Geneseo, Illinois, speaks candidly about adversity and the role of faith in bouncing back stronger. Her episode reframes success beyond wins and velocity: softball, she says, is about purpose. Snell’s message is a blueprint for young athletes managing setbacks—own the struggle, lean on your support system, and keep moving forward.

Team Israel 18U: Competing for Country and Community
This summer, the Israel 18U National Softball Team took the diamond in Spain, competing with a level of focus and unity that mirrored their pride in representing their country. The season then shifted to Pittsburgh for the JCC Maccabi Games, which returned to the city after a 28-year absence. The dual itinerary—international competition and a meaningful cultural event—captured the program’s resilience, identity, and connection to something bigger than the sport itself.

Brynlee Hopkins: Courage Over Fear
From Bixby, Oklahoma, 2027 utility Brynlee Hopkins embodies the spirit of choosing courage over fear. Through loss and life-changing challenges, she has stayed grounded in faith and grit. On the field, she projects Division I tools and a team-first approach; off it, she models empathy and resolve. Hopkins’ story is exactly why Voices from the Field exists.

Addison Davis: Grit, Growth, and the Value of Failure
A 2028 catcher/utility from Pearl River Central High School (Carriere, Mississippi), Addison Davis believes failure is the setup for success. Her interview traces early mornings, late-night reps, and the lessons learned from tough innings—including a heads-up defensive moment that reflects preparation and instinct. Davis represents a generation that values the work as much as the win.

Why Their Voices Matter
Tsao, Snell, Team Israel 18U, Hopkins, and Davis show how fastpitch is built on more than statistics. Their features highlight preparation, perspective, and perseverance—the traits that sustain programs and shape leaders. Voices from the Field elevates these stories so players, parents, and coaches can learn from the process behind the performance.
