Unity 2026-Butler C/3B/SS Bella Moussa, a freshman at Midlothian High in Virginia, is at the USSSA Select 30 National Training Camp this weekend in Las Vegas, NV.

Today was my third day in Vegas and second day of the Select 30 Training Camp. It was a very eventful day, starting filled with lots of cool things. The first thing we did was starting at 8 a.m. we had group sessions with our teams that lasted about 40 minutes each.
The first sessions was Media and Marketing. This station was a lot of fun and very relaxed. It was run by Haley Cruse, who had a lot of information to give us and some very helpful tips. We had a selfie station where we took lots of fun group pictures and we also had an interview station where Hayley would ask us and a partner a question for us to answer.
The next station we went to was a recruiting information station. This was very helpful and gave us all an idea on what needs to be done in order to get scholarships and into our dream schools. We set up recruiting profiles and started with some basic information to start our accounts up, which we have the option of finishing later at home with our parents.
The third station was position-specific work. I worked catching because that is my primary although it was a hard decision because my idol Ali Aguilar was running the infield station. With the catchers we started off blocking and mechanics, which was really helpful to break down all the moves and taking it step-by-step. Then after about 20 minutes we went on to catch some pitchers and do bullpens.
Our fourth and final station was hitting!! This was my personal favorite station. We took live BP on the field, then there was a team shagging and one hitting off tees. I went yard a couple times during live and overall the swing felt really great.
After all stations were finished, we had about an hour break to chill and grab lunch before our first game. We played at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Angels field at Big League Dreams Park, which is a beautiful facility in Las Vegas with all turf fields! We all got back to the field around 11:50 a.m. for our first game and sat around and watched the game before ours, which was a great opportunity for bonding.
We won both of our games and they were total team efforts. Our offense started off HOT and we scored about 3-4 runs in the first inning, then went out and locked it down on defense. I started off playing first (base), which was new but a good experience, then went to go play third (base) where I had some really good plays and ended the game behind the dish.
The second game was another great team effort I started off with a double and caught again. I had a lot of fun playing with my team and I’m really looking forward to what the rest of the weekend holds for us.
Now my mom and I are heading back to the hotel so I can get ready for our night out. We are going to watch “America’s Got Talent” and have dinner. I’m super excited to go watch and just overall spend quality time with my mom, who is my best friend and number 1 supporter. Las Vegas definitely has a lot to do and I can’t wait to see what else I get to explore as the weekend goes on!
