Samantha (“Sam”) Roe was rated by Extra Inning Softball as one of the Top 5 players in the Extra Elite 100 for the Class of 2022 and the catcher/infielder, who is committed to the Florida Gators, is a regular blogger for our site.
Sam earned Extra Inning Softball 2nd Team All-American and Florida 3A All-State honors even though she was only an 8th grader in 2018 as she led her high school team, Rocky Bayou Christian School (Niceville, Florida), to the 3A Final Four in May with a .627 batting average and an amazing 2.065 OPS.
She was so dominating at the plate that 31 of her 45 hits were for extra bases and she also knocked in 46 runs while not striking out once all year (87 plate appearances).
If you haven’t read her previous blogs, you’ll definitely want to check them out, including her an earlier one telling her special story about being adopted.
Today, she talks the rush that comes from being a catcher and what’s music to the ears, brings a smile to the face and puts joy in a catcher’s heart!
